Better Workflow - Compatibility
To enable to creation and preview of a Live-Draft, Better Workflow (BWF) interacts at the very heart of ExpressionEngine's publishing process. Using the available hooks it splits an entry's data apart and, like a railway marshalling yard, switches points so different packages are sent to different places.
It's complex and all that switching means not all fieldtypes are compatible or behave exactly as they do normally. Please read the following information carefully for details on compatible features.
All information here is accurate as of BWF version 1.6
BWF is compatible with most of ExpressionEngine's first-party fieldtypes.
Please note, BWF is NOT currently compatible with Grid.
- MSM: BWF is fully compatible with Multi-site Manager. Channels and users can be assigned on a site by site basis.
Please note, BWF is NOT currently compatible with Channel Form.

When previewing a brand new entry on a Structure managed channel no Structure data is available, so BWF will revert to the preview template specified in the settings for that channel. After the entry has been 'saved and closed' for the first time, Structure will create its records and all subsequent previews will use the actual Structure URL. Depending on your template set-up, you may need to create a specific preview template for this scenario, or you may wish to disable preview for brand new entries.
